Charles P. Jones, Partner

Charles joined the firm as an associate in 1996 and has been a partner since 2002, practicing primarily in the areas of real estate, property tax assessment and tax exemption, estate planning and municipal law.   In representing clients in tax assessment and tax exemption matters, Charles’s experience includes the successful pursuit and defense of hundreds of residential and commercial tax assessment appeals on behalf of the owners of commercial, residential and vacant properties in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Additionally, Charles has prepared and presented exemption applications for nonprofit, religious and charitable organizations as well as municipal authorities. Charles is adept at researching property title history and resolving complex problems that often impede transactions and development.
In addition to the representation of clients in litigation, Charles also works closely with the firm’s real estate settlement service. His experience includes:
  • Formation of single purpose entities and the negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale agreements, easements and licenses, as well as commercial and residential leases
  • Formation and management of condominium and planned unit development associations and drafting of declarations, bylaws and rules and regulations
  • Litigating title, boundary line, lease, mechanics lien, eminent domain and unit owner/association disputes
  • Complex title search and title interpretation
  • Land use approvals and zoning
